God's Plan of Salvation

The first spiritual item to consider is God's love for His creation...which includes you!  Because He loves you He wants you to be in Heaven with Him.  In  fact, He gave the Bible, His very Word, so that you would know how to be with Him in heaven upon your death.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life - John 3:16

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.-

1 John 5:13

This is the point where we get back to God's love.  Even though we deserve eternal death for our sin, God loved us so much that He came to Earth in the form of Jesus Christ to pay the price for our sin.  How did He pay?  With His own life on the cross.  After His death, He arose from the dead three days later.  He did it because He loves us.  He did it even though we are sinners.

But God commendeth [showed] his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.- Romans 5:8

You might be asking yourself, "If God loves me so much, why don't I automatically go to heaven?"  The answer is because we are sinners.  Sin is any act that is contrary to God's law and commandments.  Even one sin is enough to disqualify ourselves from Heaven- a sinless place where God, who is sinless, resides.  No one had to teach us how to sin, sinning comes naturally to us.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:-  Romans 3:10

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;- Romans 6:23

Since God loves you so much, He wants you to have a relationship with Him and an eternal home in Heaven.  But to do that, you must stop trusting in yourself, your works and your religion and place your full trust  in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness of your sin and for eternal life.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.- Romans 10:9-10

There is a price for committing sin:

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.- Romans 6:23

The Bible states that there is a wage for sin.  A wage is something that is earned for what you do.  This is a concept that most people understand.  In fact, the thought is so prevalent that people think that they can "earn" there way out of the punishment that comes from sin.  They do this by trying to do enough good so that it will outweigh the bad.  But the Bible tells us that we cannot earn Heaven through our good works.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.-  Ephesians 2:8-9

Finally, realize that God actually promises that if you realize your sinful condition and confess Christ as your Saviour, trusting the payment He made for you and turning to Him alone to be your Saviour, He will save you.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.-  Romans 10:13

Pray and ask Jesus to be your Saviour today!
